Please post anything helpful about the slap bass technique. One thing that suprised me is that this technique started in the 50's but didn't become popular until the 70's when the funksters brought it to life.

Famous Slap Bass Players

I would have to say there are many famous slap bass players, but very few make it to the public spot light. The ones I would have to say who have done the most to put the slap bass technique into the main stream would be Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bootsy Collins.
